DISCOVERED THE WORLD'S LARGEST DINOSAUR

Scientists have found the bones of creatures in Argentina, which is considered the world's largest dinosaur . According to the measurements of its giant femurs, his height was 20 meters, and the length of 40 meters. Paleontologists believe that this is a new titanosaur - a group of dinosaurs sauropods other than a long neck and tail and a small head that lived during the Cretaceous period. Weight dinosaur was about 77 tons, the equivalent weight of 14 elephants. This is 7 tons heavier than the record holder in the weight category - Argentinosaurus.

Given the size of these bones, which exceeds the amount of any previously known giant animals, we can say that the new dinosaur - it is the largest animal on Earth hodivshee "- said researcher Dr. Jose Luis Karballido (Jose Luis Carballido) and Dr. Sex Diego (Diego Pol).

Scientists have yet to name a creature that lived in the forests Pantagonii between 95 and 100 million years ago.

The biggest dinosaurs

Size - one of the most interesting aspects of the science of dinosaurs. However, it is also the subject of much scientific debate.
Many dinosaurs were included in the list of the biggest, if they have been formally described. Furthermore, assessment of weight can vary greatly as compared with the length as it is easier to determine the length extinct animals than their weight.

Spinosaurus - the largest predator

Spinosaurus is the largest carnivorous animals that lived on Earth. According to various estimates of its size ranged from 12.6 to 18 meters long, 5 meters in height and weight from 7 to 20 tons.
Argentinosaurus - the largest sauropod

Argentinosaurus is the largest herbivorous dinosaurs, whose length reached 30-35 meters and a weight of 60 to 100 tons.
Zavroposeydon - the highest sauropod

Although it weighs 50-60 tons zavroposeydon considered the highest dinosaur with growth of about 18 meters.
Shantungozavr - the largest hadrosaur

Shantugozavr was one of the largest hadrosaurs or "duckbilled dinosaurs", weighing up to 15 to 50 tons and a length of 13-15 meters.
