Smithsonian magazine has announced the finalists of the 12th annual photo contest. This year, the Smithsonian Photo Contest participated photographers from 93 countries, sending more than 26,500 images.  

The editors have selected ten finalists in each category: "Natural World", "Travel", "People", "The American Experience", "Modified image "and" Mobile ".
